Skoda Kodiaq - the flagship crossover of the Czech brand, created under the leadership of chief designer Josef Kaban. Distinctive features of the model are sharp lines running from the front to the rear of the body, a sculptural design of the stern, as well as narrower headlights with a crystalline structure. The name of the all-terrain vehicle refers to the Kodiak bears living on the island of the same name off the coast of Alaska, and the letter q at the end is borrowed from the language of the Alutiik people - the natives call the bear Taq uka'aq.
The Skoda Kodiak is based on the Volkswagen MQB modular platform with a transverse engine. By default, the crossover is designed for five, but a third row of seats is available as an option. Regardless of cabin configuration, the Kodiaq is 211mm longer than normal Volkswagen Tiguan second generation, but 7 mm inferior to it seven-seater modification. Overall length - 4697 mm, width (with mirrors) - 2087 mm, height - 1676 mm, wheelbase - 2791 mm.
The trunk volume of the largest Skoda crossover with two rows of seats is 720 liters, and with the third row - 270 liters. However, the backs are folded and then the specified parameter increases by 1345 and 1735 liters, respectively. For comparison, trunk volume Nissan X-Trail - 550 l, and Toyota RAV4 - 547 l. The Skoda Kodiaq is equipped with TSI petrol turbo engines and TDI diesel turbo units, which are combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as six- and seven-band DSG “robots”. All power units comply with Euro-6 toxicity standards. In some markets, the initial versions of the crossover are front-wheel drive, while other modifications are equipped with all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled interaxle multi-plate clutch.

The Skoda Kodiak is available in Ambition, Style and Scout trim levels. The standard equipment of the crossover includes: external rear-view mirrors and door handles in body color, black roof rails, a leather steering wheel and gear selector knob, a multimedia system with a touch screen, lighting in the driver and front passenger footwells. In addition, front and side airbags are installed by default.
The Style package is distinguished by chrome trim on the side windows, a keyless entry and engine start system, a dual-zone air conditioning system and other equipment. For Scout versions other bumpers and alloy wheels of the original design are provided. Kodiaq's optional extras include a panoramic sunroof, various trim and seat material combinations, blind spot monitoring, lane departure monitoring, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, driving mode selection, full LED headlights, and more.
