Skoda Octavia - the third generation of a five-seater liftback, the most popular model of the brand. In May 2017, from the assembly line of the main ?koda plant in the city of Mlad? Boleslav got off The 1.5 millionth Octavia of the third iteration, and the total circulation of the model of all generations exceeded 5 million copies.

The world premiere of the new ?koda Octavia took place in December 2012 at a special event in Mlad? Boleslav. This time, the brand's specialists tried to create not only the most balanced car in the class, but also the largest. The wheelbase of the five-door has grown by as much as 108 mm. In addition, compared to its predecessor, the liftback has become 90 mm longer and 45 mm wider. At the same time, the front overhang decreased by 29 mm, and the rear overhang increased by 11 mm. The front track has been widened by 8mm and the rear by 6mm.

Most importantly, the length of the cabin, the space for the knees of the rear riders and the volume of the trunk have increased - by 33 mm, 47 mm and 5 liters, respectively. Moreover, if earlier the Octavia with the rear seats folded down could hold 1435 liters of luggage, now this figure has increased to 1580 liters thanks to a more spacious interior. Since 2017, it has been sold in Ukraine updated version popular model, the distinguishing feature of which was the bifurcated optics in the front (optional LED headlights are now available).

The Ukrainian range of engines includes one atmospheric and several turbocharged engines.

Gasoline engines restyled ?koda Octavia:

• turbocharged 1.4TSI with direct injection. Power 150 hp, maximum torque 250 Nm. Combined with a 6-speed "mechanics" and a 7-speed preselective "robot" DSG with dual clutch;
• atmospheric 1.6 MPI with distributed multi-point injection. Power 110 hp, maximum torque 155 Nm. It can be paired with a 5-speed “mechanics” and a 6-band “automatic” Tipronic with the ability to manually shift gears;
• turbocharged 1.8TSI with direct injection. Power 180 hp, maximum torque 250 Nm. On Octavia, it is combined with a mechanical six-speed and a 7-speed DSG;
• turbocharged 1.8TSI with direct injection. Power 180 hp, maximum torque 280 Nm. It is installed on the all-wheel drive modification of the ?koda Octavia in combination with a 6-speed DSG gearbox.

Diesel engine:

• turbocharged 2.0 TDI with common rail injection system. Power 150 hp, maximum torque 320 Nm. Available in tandem with 6-speed "mechanics" and 6-speed DSG.

DSG transmissions are offered only for medium (Ambition) and top-end (Style and Laurin & Klement) models. The all-wheel drive version is also available only in the specified equipment levels.

The design of the rear suspension depends on the power of the power plant: on modifications with a 180-horsepower 1.8 TSI unit, a multi-link is installed, on the rest - a semi-independent beam.

?koda Octavia for Ukraine is produced by the SKD method at the Eurocar plant in the Transcarpathian region. The "Ukrainization" of the liftback provides for preparation for bad roads, as well as increased ground clearance to 155 mm.
