Skoda Octavia — Five-door liftback. The fourth generation of the model was presented in November 2019. The start of sales in Ukraine is scheduled for the summer of 2020.

The new Octavia, like its predecessor, is built on the same platform with Volkswagen Golf - modular MQB. The length of the car is 4689 mm, regardless of body type, so the liftback stretched out by 19 mm, and the station wagon - by 22 mm. The increase in width was 15 mm, up to 1829 mm. But the wheelbase has not changed and is 2686 mm.

In the case of the fourth-generation model, Skoda's designers abandoned the idea of ​​a "four-eyed" front optics in favor of more traditional thin headlights. At the rear, the novelty also acquired horizontal lights with additional sections on the fifth door. The result of the well-coordinated work of designers and engineers of the Czech automaker was improved aerodynamics - the drag coefficient Cx of the liftback decreased from 0.29 to 0.24, and the station wagon - from 0.31 to 0.26.

At the same time, Octavia has become even more spacious. Increased legroom for passengers in the second row, slightly increased the volume of the trunk. The cargo compartment of the liftback now holds 600 liters instead of 590, and the Combi version under the curtain has 640 liters compared to 610 for the previous generation model. As before, there are handles in the trunk for folding the rear row backrests.

The front panel is decorated in the same “two-story” style as the Scala hatchback and Kamiq crossover. However, there are even fewer physical buttons and switches: microclimate control is almost entirely transferred to the central display. Only the block of “hot” buttons under the screen has been retained, and the rotating light switch to the left of the steering wheel, which has long been an attribute of Volkswagen cars, has been replaced with keys. Another innovation of the digital age - the control of the sliding glass roof and its blind is implemented by a touch-sensitive slider on the ceiling.

Other interior features include a two-spoke steering wheel and a new DSG shifter like the sister Golf. Rich versions have two ten-inch displays for instruments and media systems, although simpler cars have a slightly smaller central screen - 8.25 inches. The new multimedia, at least in the European versions of Octavia, has Internet access using eSIM technology and voice control with an assistant named Laura.

Skoda Octavia of the fourth generation has found a scattering of new options. By analogy with the Volkswagen Golf, she got matrix LED headlights with dynamic direction indicators, a projection screen, three-zone climate control, and front seats with massage and ventilation. Available on order are a Harman/Kardon audio system, a 230-volt outlet, the so-called Sleep Package, which includes fold-down headrests and blankets, an extended range of electronic assistants, and power rear door child locks.

Octavia for the Ukrainian market is presented with petrol turbo engines:

• 1.5 TSI for 150 hp and 250 Nm paired with a 6-speed "mechanics";
• 1.4 TSI for 150 hp and 250 Nm, which is combined with both a 6-speed manual transmission and an 8-speed torque converter "automatic"

By default, the car is offered with the Bad Roads package in Active, Ambition, Style trim levels and with additional option packages for each of the trim levels. Basic features: LED headlights and LED rear combination lights, air conditioning, power windows on all doors, heated and power side mirrors, tire pressure monitoring system, hill start hold system, Swing audio system with 8-inch touchscreen, central locking with remote control, front and front side airbags for driver and passenger.
